Excellent tool to have around. Battery must be fully charged to read correctly but it eliminates pages of opinions and many dollars worth of "trial and error" fixes.

There are questions on Amazon about the amps. These pull 150 amps. How do I know if this is the correct tool to test my batteries? I’m installing 2 VMAX 125ah 12v in my coach. I looked at my battery specs and couldn’t find their “amp rating.” Is that the amp hours?

The way a load tester works is to apply a load across the battery terminals for a short time, and measures the voltage the battery maintains. It's a short-term test (holding the switch longer than recommended will result in a very hot load tester!) with an approximate load but it will tell you how healthy the battery is.

Very true! Lots of videos on YouTube about how to use them. In my oil company days, it was the only way we qualified truly bad batteries when adjusting them for dealers. It doesn't lie but the 10-15 second period must be adhered to. I've used this exact model for years and it works very well. Don't get over technical with it...just use it as designed. It also will test the charging system with engine running. Link is an excellent, no BS instructional video of this exact model. CAUTION: Unit gets VERY HOT when using...make sure it cools down in a safe area.
