Wink Day/Night shades

Has anyone restrung their day/night shades? What did you use for cord?

You can find it on amazon. Search for ""pleated shade cord". Different colors, lengths, kits, etc...

The kits will also give you directions. It's not difficult.

I think my cord is 1.8mm or 2.0mm, it's hard to tell. What size did you guys use?

I've heard of people using braided fish line or twisted mason line. Does anyone have experience with these?

I do have experience with twisted masons, but not having anything to do with day/night shades.

I've done it on an previous coach. I bought the kits at Camping World. The wider shades with 4 strings are more complicated. But you can google and find color coded diagrams that show how the cords cross over one another.

Thanks you guys! I'm trying to decide if I should get the kit with the small amount of cord and the grommets or just get a 300 yard roll of cord for less money!

I ended up buying both the 300 yard spool and the re-string kit. I only used the re-string kit so far. My shades do not have replaceable grommets so the kit was not really needed. I followed the instructions on the video and it worked perfectly! The shade works like new. Now I realize that some of the other shades (that I thought worked much better than the one I fixed) need to be re-strung also.
