Fresh Water Tank at Filler Cap

I have a 2016 Hurricane 31S that is intermittently leaking water from the fresh tank filler cap into the compartment below. This is the first time this has occurred since the water pump was replaced, but not the first time. Any ideas on the solution? TIA for any help.

I have seen two similar things.

1 - After filling my tank up, water leaked from the fill valve while driving. Turned out the tank was 100% full and the leak was all reaming in the fill tube as it is higher than the tank. Came out when cornering but only a little till the tube was empty.

2- Water coming out my city water connection when I filled my tank. Turned out the check valve was bad which prevents water from flowing out, only in. I have seen other Hurricane owners with the same problem.

Hopefully it's something simple like above.

Had same problem once in my 2015 Vegas when hooked to city water. The water presseure in the lines was back-feeding through the water pump into the fresh water tank.

Turned off city water. Ran the pump for about 3 or 4 minutes with the kitchen faucet open. Turned pump off and turned city water back on. No more problem.

Turned out to be some debris stuck in the check valve on the pump. Running the pump dislodged it.

Is the gasket on the fresh water cap, if not the water will spill out of the neck and run down the side into the compartment.

Solution will take some time

Had the mobile RV guy out today, he declined to work on the problem, says the water pump (replaced 6/2016) is installed improperly, and will have to wait until I return home (December) to be fixed. Meanwhile, I drained the fresh tank. I found no gasket on the filler cap, but the mount seems like maybe there isn't one. I'll ask Thor. Thanks all for your help.
