Fridge on the fritz

Hi there! Camping at the beach for the past few days. This morning the fridge turned off sometime unknown to me... no lights on the panel so won’t work on propane or auto, no breaker flipped, the camper is level, no wires disconnected under the panel.... I’m stumped! Luckily moved the Costco spinach artichoke dip to the outside fridge before all was lost.

Someone from mobile repair service is coming tomorrow to fix the broken bunk motor. Other than never buying a Thor again (kidding, not kidding&#128514, any suggestions on how to fix this myself?

Thanks!
Christina

Check the fuse that supplies 12 VDC to the fridge. I assume other 12 VDC loads are working: like the cabin lights?

Fuse is good and yes, everything else works. I flipped all the breakers just in case.

So just to be clear, as 16ACE27 asked about checking the 12vdc fuse feeding the fridge,......you checked F1 (or as appropriate for your unit) on the fridge control board via outside access panel? What about using a voltmeter to check for 12vdc on that fuse? If no 12vdc there you could have a bad connection somewhere from power source. Also check your fridge manual as typically they include troubleshooting flow charts and tell you what to check depending on failure conditions (such as no lights on control panel).

Breakers? Your fridges needs 12 VDC as control and indicating power. The breakers on your electrical distribution panel control 120 VAC. Did you check your fuse on the electrical distribution panel that feeds 12 VDC to the fridge?

You may have a loose wire on the fuse panel in the converter area. I had a loose wire and drove me crazy trying to find it. Since the wire was after the fuse, the fuse showed good.

I had to "pull" on the wires and, lo and behold, the wire came loose in my hand.

The most frustrating part of this is it worked for a year, then quit. When I started trouble shooting, it would start working again. The wire would make contact until it didn't.

After stripping the end and securing havent had the issue again

Fixed!

It was a blown fuse. Replaced and chilly once again. Thanks, for the help!
