Front Shade alarm

This morning I was raising the front shade and started hearing what sounded like a beeping alarm. It stopped as the shade was raised about halfway up. We are on shore power. Any ideas as to what this might be?

Did you happen to have the key on. They are designed to not be allowed to be lowered to a point that blocks your view while the engine is running. I have not experienced this but it could be an alarm if you had the blind down and then started the motorhome and began raising the blind. Since you stated the alarm stopped about half way up that leads me to believe this is what happened.

I got it figured out last night when I got back to the coach. The alarm I heard must have been some kind of low battery alarm as the chassis battery was dead. The front shade apparently runs off the chassis battery, and that battery was discharged. We have been parked for about a month, and we raise and lower the shade every day. Even after 2 years with this coach I'm still learning the nuances of the electrical system!

Glad to hear that you found the source... I hope that you were able to get that thirsty battery a nice, long drink of "juice"!
