Last year I got a price from a local company here that does large trucks etc. for bringing the paint up to par and clear coating. Two coats of clear coats was $3,200. I think I will just let it go like it is.

Oh yeah, here is another alternative to renew your paint. Not sure how good or the cost.

For $3,200, I'd be all over that assuming it was decent quality. I'm sooo disappointed in the HD Max on my ACE.

Does the HD Max tend to fade like the other gel coats we have on early models?

Aren’t they just great big decals? Wouldn’t they have the same propensity to deteriorate in a few years and THEN be hard to remove? Does anybody have long term experience with these?

Thanks for sharing you experiences. I have a few questions if you can spare the time.
1. Have you ever waxed your RV and if so how many times per year since 2015?
2. Where was RV stored, I assume outside in direct sunlight & UV?
3. Was a cover ever an option?
4. What would you tell the next guy assuming full body paint is not an option for them? for example given your current issue in only 3 years, would you not have bought knowing what you know or is this bad you are willing to live with for the good.

Oh yeah, it certainly does and looks blotchy in the process.

So dealing with the OP's opening statement of fading and such, how often does the average owner wash and wax their coaches? I use a wash concentrate with wax after every trip. Is that too often or not?

I don't own an RV yet, but I have and have had plenty of fiberglass boats. I wash my boat with car wash/was concentrate in pressure hose everytime I take it out of the water. When it dries I cover it up.

wax all my cars twice a year, in the Spring and Fall when temperature are cool.

I think if I had RV, I would treat just like my boat. I hand wax and that is critical. I have a 10 year SUV that paint looks better than same SUVs that are only 4 or 5 years
old. I always get a 2nd look when I take it to be service and they ask me what year.

With that said, I suspect waxing an RV will be tough work. While I may only wax once a year, I may break it and do half one day and the other half later.

My opinion is you are doing the right thing by cleaning often. On the waxing question, I’ve waxed my rig twice in the first year and I will likely keep waxing it at least twice per year. I have been able to rinse and chamois our rig on a regular basis with good results. When I was working in the fire department we cleaned every day and waxed often. That strategy worked well for keeping the rigs looking good for years.

Paint

I recently seen an ad in a RV magazine for a shop that specialized in RV painting and striping. Google it. It had to be in Motorhome or FMCA magazines.

Did you have a protection coating done from the dealer? If so there is a 5 year warranty. I missed my warranty by 2 months.

Darren
Having owned our 2016 Hurricane 31S we learned why gel coat is not on the higher end DPs. It cost us $600 to get the oxidation buffed out just to trade it in. We only had it a year. One suggestion we got was to have it wrapped instead of full body paint.

To Paint or Not to Paint. That is the Question.

Honestly I would never consider dropping north of $10,000 for paint. (although my coach is full factory paint they charged an extra $8,000 at purchase for it)

I would simply look at buying a new coach before I painted or even wrapped one. I can't justify sinking that much into paint. If you can get a great wrap job in the $5,000-$6,000 range that would be about my limit. If you're gonna use it, wrap it!
