Furnace question

We will be visiting family for a few days in 20 to 50 degree temps. We can plug in to their household electricity but will we have enouve "juice" to run the furnace? I know its propane but figure the blower needs electricity. Dont want to have to run the generator and disturb their neighbors.

The furnace blower runs on 12V--you can use the furnace when not plugged in.

Thus a normal 15 amp 120 VAC circuit will provide plenty of current to keep the batteries charged enough to run the furnace.

The blower runs on 12-volt, so all you need is enough power to keep your batteries from running down. I assume you're talking about a 15 or 20 amp outlet? Should be plenty to keep the batteries up.

The furnace operates on12 vdc, so when not plugged into shore power the furnace uses your house batteries to run the furnace, when you are plugged into AC shore power the furnace will utilize the converter to supply 12 vdc to the furnace...so long story short even if only plugged into a 15 amp outlet you will have plenty of power.

We dry camp all the time and use the furnace at night without being plugged in. We can only do that one night without running the coach, plugging in or running the generator. However, if we do have electricity for the night, if the temp is not too low, we have found that a small ceramic heater plugged into 120v provides plenty of heat in the bedroom for sleeping. The biggest positives are it’s quiet (you don’t have the blower cutting in and off all night) and it proves a more even temperature than running the furnace. It also saves on propane. In the Axis, I open the bathroom door to the living room so the heater only has to heat the bedroom.

Dumb question it’s probably been answered 1000 times can you run the furnace while you’re driving down the road without any problems

will it hurt the walls to run the furnace with the slides in to keep it warm while gone? Just wondering since the vents are partially blocked by the slide walls? Ace 29.4

and yes with slides closed you will be just fine and actually stay warmer.

Rumour and I think VilleDeal was referring to the fact their airflow may be affected with the slides in, that the outlet may be blocked. So then they would have to ensure the furnace would not overheat.
