House battery

2014 Windsport 27K

I notice when deploying/retracting auto levelers there is a message "low voltage". The levelers work fine. Is this indicating I need to replace AGM battery? If so, is it just unhooking old batt, replacing with new batt and rehooking? Or more involved and I need to let RV repair facility take care of?

You probably do not need to replace your batteries. The system monitors both the chassis battery and the house batteries. If your coach has been sitting for awhile and you just started the engine, you should wait for the voltage to stabilize before attempting a retraction. If you have drawn the house batteries down, the engine's alternator will supply the required voltage after about 2.5 minutes to the house batteries and you won't get the low voltage warning. The system warns anytime the batteries' voltages are below 12.7 volts, but will continue to operate until it sees a voltage below about 12.1 volts.

low voltage is not any reason to change your house battery, as it is more of a 'low level' indicator to the owner that the battery reading is low for the hydraulic system to deploy or retract the legs... but they generally will work in MANUAL mode regardless.
These systems comtemplate needing a certain amount of Volts to work the full cycle, and I suspect are set too high, giving the low volts reading more often than really warranted.

Some will crank their generator, or leave their engine running, in order to help satisfy the warning, and wait for it to go off, when they can then use the AUTO button, but I prefer to use the MANUAL leveling method anyway, which is not inhibited by the warning.

If you are having no other issues with 12v devices, lights, etc., then, no, you don't really have any issue with your battery(s).

If you think of the "Low Voltage" warning kind of like the yellow light coming on at an intersection: it's easier to accept, than the flashing Blue Lights in your rearview mirror!

Are you running the MH engine while operating the leveling system?

I know my ACE when deploying the jacks, I have to have the engine running or I will get the low voltage light. My house and motor batteries are fully charged when this happens. This leads me to believe that the leveling system needs a strong 12v. system to deploy the jacks.
