GRAY VS BLACK DRAinage valves

I have a DAMON INTRUDER 349 from 2001. We have not even taken it off the driveway yet, as I am trying to become familiar with its pieces/ parts.

The black & gray waste valves are connected together, one has a slightly smaller pipe that comes in from the right side, and the larger piped valve is a direct feed from above.

Neither are marked however other than by a “1” or “2”. I could fill the gray tank from a faucet and figure out which is which, but thought I’d ask here first to save time.

The gray is typically the smaller pipe.

Since you're new to it all, grey water is typically from the shower and kitchen sink. 1 1/2 inch pipe. Black water is from the pooper and possibly the bathroom sink although that may vary. 3 inch pipe to accommodate you know what.

Oh yeah, usually when its time to use a dump station. You pull the black water first and allow it to empty. Then close that and pull the grey water which will help rinse any leftovers that remain in the flexible hose while it empties.
