to grease or not
I was working under my axis and noticed no grease fittings. I once was a truck mechanic and we put fittings in on all trucks. We were told later to install them if there was an issue, because they are greased with synthetic which was better than the old type grease we used. That was decades ago and I wonder what opinions there are. No recommendation in owners manual , but i think someone with later experience might have the scoop.

My 2016 Vegas (e450) has fitting on tie rods and drag link. I grease them every time I change oil.

There are 4 grease points on the steering linkage.

mine has no fittings,just plugs were I can install them. I need to talk to a ford truck service place about what they had in mind

My 2017 Axis has the 4 grease fittings. I think I would add some zerks to yours.

Mine had grease fittings, about half of them I changed to 90 degree fittings to make it easier for me

Thanks I agree based on past experience, but there is always an expert that thinks things should not be tampered with. The factory must have wanted it that way. I have low miles so it will get greased before I head out. Do you grease u-joints ? I didn't look at them yet but we did so at work.

You're only supposed to pump until the boot moves or you see some grease pushing out of the fitting. Might only be one or two pumps, might be 3 or more..

Not sure what is recommended by the manufacturer, but Lucas Oil Red n’ Tacky is about the best you can get. Any auto parts store will have it.

Exactly. Just a little at a time until the boot moves. I used to think it was good to "Push out all of the old grease" but then they always leak out quickly with nomal use and the joint will wear out much quicker.
