hot water heater

I just took delivery of a 2019 Thor Freedom Elite 26HE. I have two questions.
1. I am looking for the hot water tank. Is it under the dinette seat?
2. I haven't located any of the drain valves under the RV. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum!

Hopefully you'll get someone with your exact model to respond. If that should fail, call Thor and ask for a schematic of the plumbing. Ask for schematics of the 110 volt and 12 volt systems, too.

For our 30 FE the water heater is under the sink and behind the furnace. For draining I just pull the plug out of the heater and our tank drain is on the drivers rear on the outside wall nothing underneath. Not sure how different our model is from yours

1) Working from the outside in. There should be an access door on the outside for the water heater. This door will have a grate to let the hot air out plus let you empty the heater. So where is it in the coach? Its on the other side of the wall from the outer door.

2) No help

1) Water Heater outside right behind your sink, you should see cover on the side about a 1/3 of the way back about chest high.

2) I do not think there are any lower drain valves on this model, or at least I haven't found them yet.

There are valves to the water heater that are very hard to reach. Mine were bypassed when I brought it home. I removed the little half wall under the sink to easily get to the valves. You can't see the valves with the wall installed.

I'm not aware of any drains below the tank. I'm actually installing the Camco electric heating element tomorrow. Will look to see if there are any other drains.

I spent some time familiarizing myself with the water heater in my 2018 26HE and installed the electric heat element. It was a simple install and works great!

Assuming the 2019 uses the same tank I can say that the only drain is in the exterior compartment. It's a nylon plug.

I was curious about the differences in the 2019 and kinda bummed after seeing what they did. It looks like it is 100% solar ready and you only need a panel on the roof. They also added a black tank flush and changed the shore power plug.

The one change that has me curious is the screen that they added to the generator door. I'm wondering if there is a known heat issue with the solid doors.

Congrats on the new RV!

I also have a 26HE. The first time I ran the generator it shut off after about a half hour. I had the door closed and it overheated and shut down by itself. I have read on this forum that it shuts down at 120 degrees. Now I always open the door if I am running the generator.

I haven't experienced any issues with mine. The longest I've ever run it was during a two hour drive. I suppose the drive kept it cooler than sitting still.

I also run it for at least 30 minutes every month. I guess it's something to watch for if it ever happens.

When you are driving air blows up from underneath to cool the generator.
