House Battery

Can anyone tell me what the house battery for a 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 29FE should be. I have seen info identifying it as both a 12 or 6 volt battery. Thanks!

12 Volt Deep Cycle. At least 1, maybe 2 in Parallel or maybe 2 6 Volt batteries in series to make 12 Volts for the RV.

They are delivered with one 12v "deep but not so deep cycle" battery. There is enough room for a second 12v deep cycle battery in the battery tray. You can if you wish, replace the original 12v battery with two 6v "really honest deep cycle " batteries wired in series meaning plus to neg. giving the 12 volts you need. Unless you plan on doing a lot of boondocking off the grid, it is not , in my not so humble opinion, worth adding a second battery or converting to two 6v's.

I see now where my confusion came from. The original pre release specs called for two six volt batteries and they were shipped with one twelve instead. Will pretty much any 12v RV deep cycle battery work or do I need to get something specific? Thanks

Any 12v "deep cycle" will work. Having said that, I'm sure someone will jump in here with an opinion fit for a doctorial thesis on the subject, thus adding to the confusion.

You have realize the mfr only provides the minimum to get by.

Do you plan to do any dry camping, without electrical hookup? If so, buy two RV deep cycle. You really don't want to run these batteries down below 50% capacity. It shortens their life each time. There is LOTS of info online but let me suggest a start:
