Moisture on floor of an ace 30.4

We're newbies to rving and planning our first trip next week. Took the rig to gas it and noticed some moisture on the floor in front of the coach after we were under way, not a lot but enough to wipe up with a paper towel. Looks like it came from under the coach. The slide seal under the coach was wet as well. Did have some rain the day before and it got cooler. Could it just be condensation? Thanks

We did have the ac running. We also found a spot to calibrate the levelers and also ran the slide out and had water running down the outside of the slide while extending. Hope that's not a common occurrence.

I meant, I hope the water on the floor is not a common occurrence.

It could be a leak in the windows. We have a ACE and noticed some water in the front passenger side and it turned out that both the front side window and the little dog window leaked when there was a heavy rain.

If the trim on the bottom of the slide isn't properly sealed, water will run down the face of the slide and seep on top of the bulb seal on the bottom of the slide. It doesn't take much of a gap in caulking to allow a fair amount of water in. The way to see if you have that problem is to extend the slide all the way. Then go under the slide and run your hand along the rubber seal attached to the motorhome (not the slide) under the slide. If it is wet, you have a gap in caulking. I found my Miramar had no caulking at all on the lower trim panel on the slide.

The more I think about where your water appears the more I believe it is from a part of the trim not being sealed. I had exactly the same experience. The water would be at the front or back of the slide depending on the tilt of the RV.

It only happened when the slide was in. It took a lot of testing with a garden hose to finally discover the source of the leak.

I ran some silicone caulking along the length of the trim.

If you look at the photo it is the bottom trim. There was no caulking there. Water could run down the face and right into the RV with the slide in. There are seep cups at each end of the slide designed to catch any moisture that gets in there and evaporate or drain out when the slide is open. But without being sealed it allowed more to get in then the cups are designed to hold. When they over flowed I would find a small amount of water on the floor.

Thanks, I will check that tomorrow. My slide sticks out about a half an inch from the rig when closed, that could be part of the problem.

I took it into a RV service center (not CW) and they resealed the Windows using butal tape. I may have tried taking the Windows out to reseal myself, but didn't want to do it by myself, scared I would drop the Windows.
