Ours arrived yesterday, now to box up the old one and drop it off at the Fedex pickup point. Came with return label.

Check that the safety pin doesn't simply fall out! Our replacement had nothing to hold the safety in place and I found it on the floor after I picked up the fire extinguisher.

Mine said it could not be dropped off at a FedEx pickup center. Home pickup was required.

Scrub --agree with comment from Pete'MH above. The shipping instructions that came with mine said that the fire extinguisher is regarded as a dangerous item because of the pressurized bottle. The instructions said because it is a dangerous item it cannot be accepted at a FEDEX drop off point. The instructions gave a FEDEX 800 number to request pickup at your residence. That is what I did. FEDEX came two days later & picked up the old extinguisher.

Got my replacement today. Return label, clear instructions, so that’s all fine. But I’m just wondering, is it normal for a brand new unit’s needle on the pressure gauge to look like this? Is it really “full” as long as the needle touches green?

As long as it’s on the green it’s good.

Totally different story here. Called Kiddo. By VIN # they said ours was part of the recall. THen they sent us an email that said they needed all the serial number/model number information. I had already sent them photos to show that our unit had not been stamped with the info they were requesting. So now they will not send us a new one. Problem is that I am willing to purchase a new one myself. NO IDEA what I need to purchase!

I ended up calling them. They asked me the numbers on the extinguisher (maybe not the serial nbr) and my VIN. They approved and sent me the replacement. Just call and tell them you have the extinguisher in front of you.

That's what I did, and I even sent them photos. I think the rep just didn't know what she was doing, or the person who tried to process the recall didn't understand. In any case it was very frustrating to think I was getting a new extinguisher, only to get a follow up email about a week later telling me they still needed the additional numbers after I had sent them the photos showing them that the numbers just were not there!
