Inverter thor 29j

I have called Thor several times with not really good help. So here it goes. When running down the road Thor says my refrigerator and some outlets should work via the house batteries. I obviously want to keep my food cold and I would like to keep my laptop charged because I am working.

Here is what I have done. I have reset the inverter box, it has a green light. I changed the fuse for humor sake it's slot 5 7.5 Amp. No plugs work either.

On 110, generator and propane my fridge works. My house batteries all show green. Everything works like a champ. What can I do to further deduce why my fridge won't run off house while we are driving. I really need a plug too so I can work. Are there any relays or something else I should do for this to work.

Ty

what year Outlaw?
Do you have a residential (120 VAC only) fridge or a propane/120 VAC fridge?
Do you have an inverter?

There is no inverter that uses a 7.5 amp fuse.
Inverters are only installed in MHs with residential fridges.
Otherwise, the fridge runs off propane while traveling or boondocking and outlets only work off SP or the generator.

EDIT: From previous posts it appears you have a 2022 Outlaw 29J with an absorption fridge, and consequently, no OEM inverter.

I have an inverter. It's a 2022. It should run off house while driving which is why I bought it. The fuse was for the fridge which was ridiculous but I did it to humor them. We should not have to have propane on for this fridge but yes it's dual source.

Don't confuse converter with inverter.

According to Thor MC you have a class C Outlaw with the 29J floor plan. It would help to know the year, as the 2023 Outlaw 29J a 12 volt (only) conventional fridge and it does not have an inverter.
As for an older model say 2020 Outlaw 29J is has the standard Norcold RV fridge that is gas/electric. According to Thor MC, it has no inverter installed, but a PO could have installed one. With out an inverter you need shore power or the generator running for the fridge to operate on electric. It will operate fine on gas as long as it has 12 volt power from the house batteries, the charger or the alternator.

Are u 50 amp or 30amp? 3 or 4 prongs on your shore power cable?

Look at breakers do yoi have 2 main breakers?

Brochure show 30 amp aervice with big and small AC.

I bet thor split your power to 2 legs. Inverter only powers one live leg on batteries and you are b plugged into dead leg when on batteries.

Since everything works on gen or shore power, shows all your breakers and frig plug are working!

Let us know!

Ty
1. Take a picture of your Inverter (upload to site as attachment)
2. Check the 12vdc voltage coming into the Inverter
3. Check 120vac coming out the Inverter, plug something 110 vac directly into Inverter

Here is my wild arse guess and I am gonna assume you really do have an Inverter. If the picture you take don't show anything plugged into at least one of the 110vac outlets, it is probably not plugged into Inverter to supply power downstream. It may seem alarming as nothing from inverter works but you know inverter is on. That circuit came unplugged or someone unplugged it without know what it was.

3 prong 30amp. 1 main breaker. Can you explain the dead leg theory.

I have a 2021 Outlaw 29s. My inverter did not function because a GFI in the garage was blown. Once I reset that, all was fine

I still say pictures would help. Voltage readings will confirm.

I googled wf5110rs and got a lot of reviews, unfortunately not a lot of them were good, but I did see a picture of the back. It seems like you cannot direct plug anything into your Inverter? That is question. Also on back it has AC output that is hardwired, can you access to take the AC voltage reading?

If you can do the above you will know if the issue is with Inverter or something downstream.

I have a transfer switch and a pass thru so if I don't have the transfer switch direct plugged into my inverter I will get no downstream inverter power. The extra AC inlet plug is helpful to direct plug other equipment like my air compressor when I have no shorepower available.

There is no "dead leg theory".

You have a two-way AC/LP fridge which is not normally powered by an OEM inverter installation.
You have a WFCO inverter whereas Thor normally installs Xantrex inverters as OEM.

Did you buy this RV used? If the inverter was installed by a previous owner there is no way to know what is supposed to be powered by the inverter.

OEM inverter installations normally power a residential fridge and the TV receptacles circuit.

You'll get a hundred guesses trying to help but you really need someone with good electrical knowledge on site to determine what you have wired and what to do to make it work as you want.

Here is the original sticker, unfortunately it does not discuss brand only that it's a 1k watt inverter

That looks like a "Window Sticker/Buyers Order" summary. There should be a more detailed list inside one of your cabinet doors that includes model numbers and serial numbers.

Contact Thor and ask for your rig’s build sheet. It will list components, brand, model and serial numbers.

So even if it was a Thor OEM part, or installed by Original owner after the fact, it is NOT going to solve your problem. The Inverter in your coach is either outputting 120vac or not? Not certain if you have established that as fact one way or the other, or I may have just missed. Your issue may have nothing to do with inverter. It has status indicators etc and thus far no one from afar has any of that information. If you can't get that info for others to try to help, the best advice I have seen is have it reviewed by local technician.

For you, a 110 30 amp circut. One leg

Looks like whoever installed you inverter hooked it up to just one breaker in your breaker panel. Probably just some lights and few outlets.

Because your frig runs on gen/shore power, shows it is NOT a wiring issue.
