Vegas 25.6 Emergency Window

I was going to open and clean the emergency window over the dinette.
It was hard to open after lifting the latch.
I stopped.
Not sure if it should only be opened in a true emergency?

A picture so can see if it is the same as a 24.1
Then I can tell you if it's just dirt-bound to the gasket....

I know of two types of emergency exit windows:
The one with a long lever arm that can be used to hold the window open for ventilation and has a screen installed.
The one with a simple center window latch with no screen that has to be propped open, but only a few inches.

Both can be opened for non-emergency use.

Once you get it open, give the rubber seals a good dose of 303. Maybe use some CRC Teflon lube in the track.

Be careful. Some emergency windows are hinged to a certain point and will then fall out. I remember some posts from a few years back where folks had the window break after it fell.

You should test to make sure your emergency windows will open easily in case of emergency.

Our rear window is a hinged emergency window that pushes outward. I got up on a ladder outside while my wife pushed from inside. Found mine are fully hinged and won't fall out.

Our dinette window is labeled as an emergency exit... but it's a slider.

The type of emergency window shown in post #8 above can get stuck if it isn’t used regularly. Open the latch and hit it a few times with your fist and it should pop free.

I haven’t opened mine any more than the ratchet arm allows for ventilation. I suspect it might fall out when opened wide for personnel egress.

Anyone tried it?
