If its any consolation, I will eventually have to deal with my own leak at the rod end of that very same transfer tube. I'm seeing a very hardware store'ish flanged bolt installed there, so who knows what might lie underneath...

Chip,
That jack is different that mine. The cylinder head is thicker and one of the bolts is recessed into the head. I don't think my socket will fit in the space around the bolt head. Also, the piston diameter on my leveling leg is less than 2.5 inch.

So it turns out that your seal method IS the one LCI used...minus the washer. That being said, not all orings are the same. If I were you I would order the size you are currently using, and the next smaller 1/16" crosss section with the proper inside diameter, but ensure both are 90 durometer hardness. This is important. 70 durometer ones are too flexible to work well in a crush application. They are typically used in dynamic applications. Use the one that fits best.
