Water Heater in Vegas 25.3

I can't tell you how many (unnecessary) cold showers I've been exposed to while traveling through the south-heading-west, and back again. Seems the pilot light to our water heater blows out in windy weather. Anyone else have this issue? Do you know if it IS the windy outdoors and traffic that is doing this? Or, am I facing a totally different problem?
Thanks!

I think you are having a different problem as there is no pilot light on the water heaters in any Axis/Vegas unit: They are DSI (direct spark ignition) units.

There hasn't been a pilot light in an RV water heater for years.

Unless your Vegas is really new and has that on-demand (tankless) water heater.

Is it not a 2 way heater, gas/elec? If so try it on electric, generator or shore power, & you can do both simultaneously to have faster recovery. Not sure which brand you have, but the Suburban heater has a thermostat on the heater outside behind the black reset cover which could be bad, don't know about the Atwood brand.
The heater also requires 12 volt to operate the circuit board, so check coach batteries.

Sounds more like you have a control board issue or possibly a shutter valve that needs adjustment. I would check the shutter first and look at flame color.
