class a extended warranty

can anyone give me a feedback on extended warranties. looking for one that is reasonable and possibly covers the roof also. I was told that no warranty covers the roof issues.
thank you for any help at all. Merry Christmas to all

I asked this question a while back. Had a few replies but not as many as I hoped.
Good Sam wanted 12 to 24 grand depending on deductible for a 7 year plan.
"Wholesale Warranties" offered a 7 year plan for FAR less AND better coverage.
3 to 4 grand depending on deductible.
We decided on Wholesale Warranties 4 grand plan with $200.00 deductible. https://wholesalewarranties.com/

OH, and the 4 grand plan included coverage for tires and wheels and items that broke that caused other items to get broken.
Maybe that does not make sense but under some plans only selected parts are covered. If an un covered part breaks and that part causes a covered part to get broken the plan will not be covered.
It's best you go to the site and read about it. Then it will make sense.
I'm just an old country boy and at times can not articulate well.

Good luck with things and Merry Christmas.

When I bought my coach new, Camping World wasn't happy that I turned down their offer for the extended warranty.

I went with Wholesale Warranty. I haven't had to use it yet..

I did call a few RV service centers in my area and asked, "What is your experience with Wholesale Warranty?" Most of the feedback was good.

I would work backwards and ask your service shop what extended warranty companies they like the most.

We shopped for extended warranties while waiting for dealer to prep our rig for us (about a week or so between the down payment and the pickup date). Found a great company, I believe it is U S Warranty Specialists or something similar. Got a written quote, too it with us to the dealer.

The Good Sam warranty Camping World offered was more than double the price of the other company. I negotiated him as low as I could (it wasn’t much of a drop) then pulled out the other quote and declined. He immediately matched the price. So we went with theirs, thinking a warranty with our dealer made sense (at the time).

So the point of my story is, there is a LOT of room for negotiation on the cost of extended warranties.

Our last and first coach was bought used from a camping world mega sale. As a newbie to the rv lifestyle i bought their warranty with 5 years of coverage. That cost $10,000........ouch.

I did use it on 3 or 4 occasions and never had a problem with them covering the costs.
That said I would suggest not to buy one but take that money and put it in the bank and use that for future expected repairs. If i had done that my bank account would be 8,000 larger.

The adds i see in magazines showing the cost for a refigerator, hot water heater etc are showing the replacement cost. They seldom will replace but fix the offending part. That is my experience others will be different.

Keep the money and use for repairs later. If you are worried about leaks the Flir Moisture meter is $600 and makes it easy to find leaks, drafts, rot. Has a Thermal Camera. If anything shows up bring it somewhere to see if its a problem.

They tried to charge me $15,000 for a warranty on a new rv that costs me $60,000. Aside from the price for the parts many times the wait for repairs can be VERY long and if you are handy you may just fix yourself anyway.

Some folks will benefit and swear by those extended warranties. Keep in mind that the dealer gets somewhere around half of your cost for commission, and the issuing company has to make a profit. With the exclusions and the deductibles, the odds are against you ever making claims equal to your insurance premium costs. Just sayin'...

Your results may vary.

That's the way all of these services (insurance, service contracts, etc.) work.

The companies make money because in total they take in more fees/premiums than they pay out. Those that purchase them have the piece of mind that if something very expensive happens they have a back stop.

Nobody is upset when their house doesn't burn down because they never make back the premium on their house insurance.

I believe Camping World will price match just about anyone although they won’t go down easily! I chose them in the end because they did finally get competitive and I figure it will be harder for them to deny coverage on their own plan. So far I haven’t needed to use it and I’ll be totally delighted if the term expires and
