Sewer Macerator

We are thinking of buying the flojet macerator so we can drain blackwater through a garden hose rather than the big black ones. Seems to work like a garbage disposal. Anyone have any experience with these? Looks a lot easier and quicker.
Thanks

We have one. Biggest reason is do we can dump the tanks at home in the septic tank. Very handy for a weekenf trip to just go home without stopping at s dump station

Have used the Flojet macerator for the last 7 years on my different MHs. Use it at home to dump the tanks. Bought a 3/4 inch industrial grade garden hose which I run through the garage and into the mud room toilet. I run 12 volt power to the wet compartment so there is an easy hookup for the pump. If you have room add a clear pipe before you hook up the pump to see the condition of the tanks for amount of rinsing.

I can't imagine that it is quicker, however. Emptying a tank through a 3" hose will always be faster than through a ~1" hose.

Look at Sewer Solutions. MUCH cheaper about $75 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...=3IE4NI7DNSYBX, tough as nails, pumps uphill a couple feet, no power required, can use 3/4 garden hose or one inch PVC pipe, uses water pressure to pump, with good chemical like Happy Campers can gravity dump and use zero fresh water, compact for less storage space, excellent for keeping gray water open. Ours is on fifth year including one year full time with all original components still in use.

Can a macerator be installed permanently in the tank valve compartment of a Vegas 24.1? If so, would like suggestions and recommendations of brand. Thanks.

Big DITTO on the sewer solution.... absolutely love it over the stinky slinky or other options... and we have used it our the house where the sewer access is 30 feet away and uphill...

2016 Axis Clean Dump Installation - Thor Forums

I’ve installed two clean dump systems in my Vegas and Axis and love them. See above for installation. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Question(s):
How much "Uphill", can you pump with a macerator?
(I've got about a five-foot vertical climb...)
Can they be hooked up as a temporary solution to the brown mess, or do they become a permanent part of the equation?

This is the Surflow pump in the clean dump installation. It says a max prime of 4’.

You can buy a permanent or twist on/off model. Why you want to twist it off - I can’t imagine.

I've got a Class C Outlaw, and it has the "bomb bay door" hanging below the bodywork... Nothing is tucked up into a bay of any sort.
I have an accessible sewer line dump spot, but I do need to give it an uphill push to get it there.
For normal camping usage: I'd just as soon use the stinky slinkies!

To each his own. The one job I always hated and skipped whenever possible. Now I dump every time we leave a campground.

I have the portable Flojet and use it to pump into the home sewage system when we come home from dry camping. I pump it probably 3 or 4 feet to the top of the clean-out. I like the ability to flush the system. One caution if you have the hose connected and fresh water on, do not shut the gate valves with pump turn off.

They also make a permanent unit much lie the sureflow pictured above.

I have a sewer solution. It does not drain fast enough to get the solids out of the black tank. That said a macerator, might work. Get a agricultural 1 inch diameter hose or bigger to increase flow rate. BTW it's on my list to try too.

Portable Flojet: can you tell me a bit more about it?
How about a link to a website location?

I’ll challenge anyone to a contest. While the flow rate may not be quite as fast, If I arrive at the same time as someone else, I am done and gone, sometimes before they get their hose hooked up. All you have to do is open the hatch, pull out a few feet of hose. Open the valve on the hose and the black valve and turn on the macerator. When the black tank is empty, turn off the macerator, close the black valve, open the gray and turn on the macerator again. When the gray tank is empty, turn off the macerator, put the hose back into the compartment, close the door and go to the water fill. The water fill is really what takes the time. No fuss, no mess, no smell, no gloves.

There is a video on YouTube about the Sewer solution. Flushing the solids in the tank was a problem for me. The macerator is the best way, especially if you have a back flush tank cleaner.

This is the one I bought. Came in a case. I wired 12v to the wetbay to make it easier.
