RV wont start

2015 Thor Four Winds will not start. Turn key and the engine doesn't turn over or even try to turn over. This has been somewhat of a progressive problem, it began about a month ago but the RV would eventually start after turning the key three or four times. Just got back from trip this weekend and had trouble starting yesterday to leave. Back home in driveway and it will not start at all. The house voltage seems to fluctuate when running on just batteries going from 12.8 to 10.2 then back to 12.6-12.8 for a while then will fluctuate again. Are the problems related? Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds to me like your chassis battery has gone dead.

Which is something they will do without warning sometimes.
I have also seen them show "acceptable" voltage until any type of a load is applied at which time they drop to nothing.
Jamie is right change out the chassis battery.

Thanks for the responses. I actually brought both to auto parts store and they put a load on them and both are fine. When i put the headlights on and try to start, the headlights stay bright. If they would dim, i would think batteries but not since they stay bright.

Are you saying that you have 2 chassis batteries, or are you referring to the 2 house batteries? I would be surprised if you have 2 chassis batteries.

Yes, two chassis batteries. Ford F-550 Diesel, comes standard with two batteries.

Had the same thing in a Sprinter diesel. Turned out to be a bad neg. ground cable. May want to check all you bat. load connections to make sure they are clean and tight.

Possibly the neutral safety switch? Check the gear shift lever sometimes if you try to shift it it will re engage
