Emergency Exit Window Adjustment

The emergency exit window over the couch in our Thor Axis is leaking. I can see the water coming in between the frame gasket and the window gasket. It's not leaking down the inside of the wall but will collect and fill the window track and does not drain out. Can the leak be corrected by loosening the red window clamps, moving them back and re-tightening in order to compress the gaskets a bit more when the window is closed? If opened do I risk the window falling out or should a qualified non imbibing assistant hold the window in place outside while I attempt the repair. "Hold my beer while I try this" will not be necessary during this task as I have previously learned my lesson.
Any advice, reassurances or warnings will be appreciated.
Thanks all.
