The way it was explained to me by a RV Tech is you have to keep the antifreeze in the system under pressure until the icemaker cycles about three times.
With that said, Whirlpool, the manufacturer of my residential fridge, says all I need to do is disconnect the ice maker line from the water source so the line drains. Everything inside the fridge/freezer is designed to operate at freezing temperatures.
If you have a water dispenser on your fridge you will need to depress the lever until all the water in the dispenser drains out.
I will say that even with my prior coach (RV Fridge) I have never pumped antifreeze into the ice maker. I have turned off the water control valve to the icemaker and disconnected the water line and I have never had an issue the following spring.
As a note, you will see these same type procedures if you search on winterizing the fridge in a summer or vacation home since the same principles apply.
