Maxxair vent covers

Washed the top of the motorhome today and noticed 2 of the 3, Maxxair II vent covers were cracked at the bottom front. I was wondering if anyone on here has had the same issue. Bought new 2 years ago.

If your coach is parked in the sun 24/7, then expect the covers to become brittle, with potential cracking. It’s the cost of doing business.
Most covers are fairly inexpensive to replace.

Also, you should check the roof for separation at seams and add the proper sealant as needed.

Hello teylorbob1, I understand about the sun and being out in the elements 24/7. I keep the motorhome in my garage unless I am using it. I found the warranty for the covers so I will contact them for replacement. I just think under normal use (2 years) and the motorhome is in a covered garage they should not have cracked. More to follow!

I have two of those covers and they have held up well, even in the Florida sun. Could yours have been improperly mounted and cracked from stress?

I did notice in the wind they rattle like crazy. I used a couple 3 inch sections of the black foam pipe insulation set between cover and roof.

I have just sent off an email with the pics of the cracks and how they were installed. Maybe I will know more tomorrow. I will let you all know. Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions!

Just an update to the cracked Maxxair II covers. I sent an email and didn't hear anything. I figured 4th of July week, so today I called the number they had posted. Talk to a customer service rep that knew her job, I sent pics so they could see how I installed them and where they cracked. I received an email stating that they were covered under warranty and would ship tomorrow. I am one Happy Camper!
