Coleman-Mach Fuse Blows Immediately On Cool

I have a coleman mach ac that blows the 2amp fuse in the thermostat immediately when I switch to cool. It works fine on fan or heat but once I try cool it knocks everything off. I replaced the thermostat to no avail. Was thinking of replacing the control box inside the AC. Are there other things post control box that could/would be causing this? My thoughts were a wire between the thermostat and control box or the control box itself was at fault. I am sure there are better ways to test what the problem is beyond just replacing parts like I am doing... Thoughts?
