Skylights are Midi-Heki (German) but distributed by Dometic here. Probably go to them for parts.
Thor went to the manual skylight in 2016 because of problems with motorized. Don't know if you can convert. (FWIW my manual unit has been trouble free.)
Here is the skylight manual, the troubleshooting is not extensive.

The frame for the skylight can be removed, under the "pebbled" (snap out) lens are the screws to remove the frame. Use care, it is flimsy. May give you access to the motor and gear.

The flynet and shade pulls are very warped on my skylight. After taking it all apart I noticed this label on the pull:

Living in AZ we keep the shade closed most of the time....my bad

Discovered replacement parts are really expensive. (90$ each for for the pulls)
360 for the whole flynet/shade assembly.

here are some more docs to look thru. Not much info on the motor cable assembly. Sounds like the cable is detached from the motor, or the gear is stripped in the motor.

Here are some more docs I have found:

Thank y'all for all the info....I pulled covers off & upon inspection I believe the long wormgear is stripped at the bottom but if I assist ( manually push up skylite while pressing the open button) the 1st few inches it will then engage & open & close. You can see the long gear as it is eclosed in a clear plastic tube about the size if a straw ( 1 on each side of the motor, mounted horizontally).. Think I'll leave it that way for now & check into replacing those at a later time ..

Even though mine is manual, opens with a push bar, I hardly ever open the skylight. I had a small leak at the hinges that was a bear to chase down. I removed all the trim and even the plastic dome before I found the problem.
During the summer I leave the reflective shade closed, so far no problems.

Glad you tracked down your problem.

Now it won't open at all. Switch works on the down side but motor isn't operating in the up side on either of the rocker switches. Gonna see if mine can be converted to manual without to much cost...like you, probably won't use it much anyways.

Were you able to convert to a manual? Since I have become a reluctant repairman for our unit, I am ready to surrender my tool belt if the manual is an option

No...I haven't messed with it as I never really used it anyway. If open its to easy for bugs or leaves to come in.
