newbie questions?

We have a 2012 Thor Tuscany 42 FX coach and are Newbies
have a few questions

Do you turn off your batteries when storing the RV for a limited time?

Will the batteries charge when plugged into a 110 outlet with an adapter?

We bought this coach 3 weeks ago, and the owner just ran through the coach rather quickly so it's a learn as we go thing for now

Is there a switch to turn on the inverter?

will appreciate any help

Thank you

Yes. Even if it's just overnight. I've added cutoff switches to completely disconnect the batteries, and use them anytime I'm not using the coach Save the charge!

Got me there. I don't have an inverter. I'd guess yes, though

will appreciate any help

Thank you

See above!

The answer to all of your questions is yes. I'm not sure where your inverter remote panel is located, but it does need to be powered on via a switch.

Just one note regarding the “will batteries charge when plugged into 110 with an adapter”.....yes they will charge, but the use/store switch must be in use position; or in my coach the separate coach battery disconnect switch must be on. The best way to know you are charging for sure is to buy yourself a multimeter and measure the voltage on the batteries (both coach and chassis) so that when you think they are charging, they are measuring at least 13.1 volts or higher. This verifies all the charging system components required to keep batteries happy are working. There are lots of RV’ers on the forums that have relay failures or breaker trip situations which prevent normal battery charging, and they may not realize it for a long time.

I agree.
If you are plugged in, and the switch is in the "Use" position: no Battery maintainer is required.
