NOTHING works

Sitting in driveway getting ready for trip on Monday:

Slide is in
Levelers extended - will not turn on - I need to get them up to start RV
Generator will not start
Plugged into 50 Amp plug at my carport
Batteries low 6.55 and I am charging them

Given the above information, can someone make a recommendation?

Thanks

On my rig: the engine has to be running, and the parking brakes has to be engaged; for the leveling system to operate.
And then things need to be turned off, in order to play with the slide and the canopy...
I hope that this helps...

Also be sure the use/store switch by the door is in the "use" position.

Sounds like dead/bad batteries are the major problem.

Check that your "use/store" switch is in the use position. If the switch is in the store position nothing will work. In the use position with your coach plugged in the inverter should be able to power everything.

I think the use/store switch is not changing to Use. I turned on the inverter and immediately caused a drain on the batteries, charge went from 9.01 to 8.75. Nothing operated.

I turned off the inverter and I am continuing to charge the batteries, which are at 9.00 now.

Update

The batteries were continuing to charge and reached 9.50. This time when I pushed the use/store button I heard the old familiar "click."

Now:

The generator started and I hear something under the bed that has started running (Converter maybe???).

Levelers panel still not comping on.

Low voltage
Let it charge up. If I remember right the levelors don't like low voltage.

But it sounds as if you're making useful progress!

For 12V batteries, anything less than 10.5 volts means the batteries are completely drained. This is usually bad for wet cell batteries. Keep trying to charge them, but you will need to get them to at least 12.1 to be able to use them for anything substantial.

Here is a chart that shows 12V batteries and how they stand when checked with a volt meter (from the 12 Volt Side of Life

Always leave the switch in the "use" position if you're plugged in, batteries will stay charged.

We went through this 1st full week with our Vegas.

Thought store was complete disconnnect is not.

The first weekend with Grandchildren testing everything, we left on store. 4 days later chassis battery dead, house batteries single light and neither gen or v-10 would start. After charging chassis battery, unit started and then plugged unit into house. Everything recovered and we never use the store function.

I thought I may have issue with batteries but they appear fine. I later added a small 750 watt inverter. Both house and chassis batteries have only required water once in 16 months. House batteries allow TV and PS4 for 5 hours to get to 11.8 volts.

Whenever possible we keep plugged in.

Start your engine or plan on waiting a long long time for the leveler system to operate. Its required.

We bought our new Windsport 29M just a few weeks ago after trading in our Keystone fifth wheel. After the hell we went through with the Keystone I have found the Thor to be very nice. No doors have fallen apart, no lights shattered, and no windows falling out while driving down the road. I am having an issue with the radio, but electronics and I don't get along very well anyway. My big issue, which I've already had with a Jaco travel trailer, was the builder leaving the black tank cut outs for the toilet and dump valve in the tank blocking the outlet at the dump valve.

So how do you get them out? I've had intermittent blockage on mine and have wondered if I don't have the same issue.

Maybe the Windsport is different from Challenger but for levelers to operate MUST have engine running - if not we get "Low Voltage" alert. Also brake must be set.

Battery voltage needs to be above 12.3 v. Do you have LCI levelers?

Just to underscore drhadley - Battery voltage needs to be above 12.3 v. With our Challenger engine MUST be running to insure this sort of continue voltage.
