Just a few thoughts.
When you say spark plug is working, have you verified that you have a spark?
If you do have spark, can you smell gas in spark plug hole?

There is a rocker switch that has a prime on it. Try that and see if you can get some gas up to the carb and into the combustion chamber. Sounds like it is not getting the gas.

Don't know what model RV you have -- but, on my Vegas the Onan generator start switch is a rocker switch. One side to stop the generator the other to start it. If you press the rocker to STOP and hold it, it primes the generator. Hold the rocker until the red stop light flashes. Then press the rocker to Start. Mine starts every time.

Agree....often, we push start and it does not start immediately..push button again and it kicks over and is running !

Take the plug out, hook the wire to it and ground on the motor. Turn it over to check for spark. You can also squirt a little gas in the plug hole, put plug back in and try.

Had a similar problem, required taking the unit to repair center and found problem internal to unit. Fixed and has been working great.

Sounds like you have a stuck float valve too, try gently tapping with a rubber mallet, that might free it up. Generators are sometimes sensitive to poor grades of gasoline. Go to TopTier.com and look at the available brands. I keep a list of dealers in my glovebox when traveling and don't buy anything but Top Tier brands.
