Water pump

Our water pump turns on and off for a brief moment . Maybe 2 seconds then off .....
It does it intermittently for no reason and at anytime for no reason . It happens every so often sometimes every 10 mins or sometimes every hour or more.
Why would that happen?
Checked all connections including water heater, outside shower, faucets etc.
thanks for any adavice.

Probably has crud under the one way valve letting pressure bleed back to the tank, very common. Remove the hose fittings, clean what you can see, clean strainer screen. After reassembly turn on pump and open a faucet on full, let the pump run a couple of minutes, should take care of the problem. If not the valve may be bad and need replaced.

Another possibility, you might have a small leak somewhere. Be sure the valves are closed on your outdoor shower. Take a look at every fitting in the water lines and the water heater. Feel each fitting to make sure they are dry.

Our Axis did the same exact thing.... we had no leaks, guess I would accept that there were some air bubbles in the lines somewhere. I recently installed a ShurFlo air accumulator tank in the water lines to help minimize this and supposedly helps the water pump not work as hard. It wasn't too hard to do and I learned some information about Pex water pipe at the same time.

Our old rv did that for years, never could find an issue. We just learned to shut it off when not using.
