Outside fridge

Does anyone know if it is safe to use the outside fridge, in the kitchen there, while traveling?

I would like to stock it with water and other beverages so it would be cold when I arrive at the campsite. I'm just not sure if it would get too hot with the kitchen closed as it is when traveling.

Anyone ever done this?

We stock ours prior to travel. Be warned, things do shift and will fall out when you open it up. We use the fridge/cabinet bars to reduce the shifting.

You'll need to either run the generator or the inverter to have the fridge on. You can load and cool the night before and it'll stay cold for quite a while even with no electricity. Love the outside kitchen and fridge!

I have had to tape the door shut when traveling with items in it. The bumping on the road can make it open and items will get warm.

Use it for beer and sodas all the time. It won't come open while underway, but when you stop and open the kitchen door, the refer door will fly open and everything inside will come cascading out to attack your feet. Trust me, you don't have enough hands to catch it all. This brought about our policy of no glass bottles. Bought a baby lock at HoDep for the refer. Works to keep it closed.

In hot weather it is hard on the outside frig, as there is little air movement in the small compartment. All residential frigs are designed to operate between 40 and 85 degrees. More or less ambient temp could cause compressor failure. That said ours seems to tolerate most anything, but it doesn't cool well on a 100 degree day in the full sun. Just be sure you have the inverter on when the coach is not plugged.

I stuck a piece of heavy duty Velcro on the side of the fridge and one on the front. Connecting them with a Velcro strap holds the door closed well.
