Plastic on top of slide

We noticed the plastic that rolls the slide out on top is tore or has come lose. Is this something I can fix myself. How?

The fabric on the top of the slide is called a "slide topper". You need to find the manufacturer. Look at the end caps or on the back of the rear door in the bedroom closet. Once you find the manufacturer, measure the length. The toppers come in lengths of 8 ft to 40 ft. If it is a Carefree of Colorado topper, you can order what you need from them or from Amazon. Instructions for all C of C topper fabric replacements are available from C of C to download. Dometic has a similar site.

Thank you for your help. The fabric is not torn it has come lose from the house about 12 inch. Can we put/push fabric back into slot?

Probably need to replace the channel it slides into. If it's come out...it will come out again. Another thing to check is have someone observe the topper as the slide comes out. It could be the roller mechanism is locking up or dragging for some reason, causing excessive pull on the topper material. In that case...a different fix and the channel may be OK. Under "normal operation" (if that applies to motorhomes) there's not that much resistance on the topper material, unless it's wound to tight from the start (kinda like the old white window shades we grew up with). Is it a new coach or new issue?
