portable air compressor

I plan on traveling in and out of freezing weather and would like to have 55 psi to clear my water lines when i do. I have the Bostitch 6 gal compressor yet would like a smaller lighter one to carry in my Thor Vegas 25.2 RV. Any recommendations? TY.

I have found blowing out lines to be “iffy” unless you have a high volume of air as well as pressure. AND if you let the air run for quite a while. Apparently some water can hang up somewhere and it later settles in low points and freezes. FWIW. I carry a couple of gallons of the pink stuff and can winterize in under 10 minutes for less than $10. Works for me.

I have the Porter Cable 1.5 gal, oil free, max 150 psi.
It's the shrouded version (hard plastic cover), so very easy to store.

Works great for my tires (82 psi) and also use it to blow the air out of the water lines.

I got mine from Pep Boys a year ago & paid about $110 or so, but it looks like it went a bit.

https://www.pepboys.com/porter-cable...product/770833

I did see Lowes has a Craftsman Pancake oil-free for $99. I think it's a max of 100 psi.

Good luck - there are plenty of good options out there. If you are using for your water lines, I would stick to the oil free versions. No sense risking getting oil in the lines.

The Thor video on winterizing says not to exceed 55 psi (right around the 2 min mark of the video).

My water pressure reducer is set at 55 psi.. The 1/2" PEX piping and shark bite fittings are rated at 190 psi @ 180 degrees Fahrenheit for long term use. If you blow a line, it due to the installation.
