Problem with AC and Generator

I was working on installing a lighted compass in our RV and wanted it cool inside. I started the generator and let it run a bit before turning on the AC. As soon as I switched the AC on the genny died out. Tried 2 or 3 times with the same result. What gives?

Same thing here. I was not sure if it had to do with the temp which was about 98 but it has been happening to me since the weather got extremely hot. Was going to tear into when I had some time.

There are so many possibilities...do you get any error code from your panel. Could be overheating. Maybe mice packed bedding around your genny. This happened to mine. I suggest checking your air filter first because it is cheap and easy and make sure your oil level is correct.

These things are deigned to be VERY protective so any little thing can cause them to shut down. If you decide to take it in for repair, I suggest your local Cummins Dealer. They are expensive but get it done right and quickly.

Good Luck!

Could it just be the AC compressor that's causing the fuss?
Did you try running the unit; but not letting the compressor kick in?
