Propane line directly over rear suspension

Hey, just picked up my 2017 RQ29 Quantum motorhome. We had gone over a dip in the road and got a bounce especially rear suspension. Shortly after at camp we had a propane leak but couldn't find it so we shut off the valve and cooked old school. No big deal.

Took it to repair guy because we just couldn't find the leak. Turns out Thor ran the auxiliary propane line for the grill hook up DIRECTLY OVER THE SUSPENSION AND WITHIN THE TRAVEL TOLERANCE.

I work for auto maker and I buy suspension parts. This was a very bad plan. Bad Thor. B.A.D.

So please check your rigs and make sure you aren't set up similarly.

Thank you!

Amanda

OMG, Good thing you got it figure out.

I know I had to zip tie my propane line in several diff. spots because I was afraid over time it would rub a hole in the line where it touched differnt things.

Always a good practice out front to crawl under your new rig slowly, with a hand full of wire ties. It will pay off. Lots of "good stuff" to explore under there.

Yep, I used 150 + zip ties on my RV (inside and out). Sometimes I go a little over kill with them but better safe than sorry. Zip ties are dirt cheap and just take seconds to install or remove if needed.

It's a good thing that you got it figured out before the tank "went empty" on you!
It's always a good idea to get "up close & personal" with your rig's underpinnings, and play the "What If?" game...
