Radio antenna snapped on Vegas

Well, it took me a few tries to do it, but this Newbie finally hit enough trees to break the black antenna on the roof, front over driver in our 2016 Vegas.

It is OK for now with electrical tape but want to replace it, am hoping I can just get a new mast without digging out the caulk. I did not see the antenna listed on my build list from Thor but the radio is AM/FM, AXXERA (at least I think it is the radio antenna).

If I replace it do they make one with a spring loaded base that is more forgiving to handle the next tree?

You didn't have the rubber ducky antenna? I replaced mine on my ACE with:

Ted,

It is a rubber ducky antenna, but shorter than this one. I wonder if they are interchangeable.

Did you just unscrew from the base or have to dig out the caulk?

I bought this 20 mm shrink wrap, two part epoxyed the antenna, put the shrink wrap over and heat gunned it. Has stayed in for 1000 miles so far and is solid as a rock. Much cheaper and easier than installing a new one - if you don’t mind the red. The black ones are larger, but you could put one over the red one - if it bothers you. The red is easier to find in the RV show parking lot.

Screwed to the base, none of the adapters needed.
