Refrigerator

We have a 2016 Miramar 34.3 with an apartment size refrigerator (not the smallest, not the biggest, but the mid sized one). It does not run on propane. My question is, does it run on battery when stopped? And while traveling is it running? The light comes on, but I'm not sure if it is actually cooling. We will be spending the night at a flying J and won't be able to plug in. Just wondering if the frig will run off the batteries without having to run the generator? Can't find any answer in the documentation. Thanks for any answers!

You probably have an inverter, that will keep your refer going as long as the batteries are charged and hold a good charge. The inverter takes 12v power and turns it to 120v ac, but does take a toll on the batteries if they are not good ones. A lot of the new units came with Harris batteries, and in most cases just don't last very long and have to be replaced. Hope this helps

You should have an inverter that will run the refrigerator and a television or 2. Important note is to check the AGS to ensure it will start the generator before the inverter goes into low voltage shutdown. The Xantrex Pro 1800 inverter sounds/displays an error at 11.0 VDC and shuts down at 11.0 VDC. Also for the AGS to start the generator at low voltage you must enable the AGS.

When I don't need to run the coach AC while traveling I use the inverter for the fridge and have not had any issues.

Happy travels.

Sounds like you have the Dometic or Norcold rv frig if it will run on propane not an apartment frig, if so set it on "auto" on the center control panel & then it automatically switches to propane when you unplug from shore power.

Sorry, missed the part that it "won't " run on propane, should've put my glasses on.
