Replacing Seiki TV

Hi! I have a Thor ACE 29.3. The outside tv is a seiki and yesterday the video display went black while it was on, but sound continues to play. I have tried unplugging and replugging the video cable. Does anyone know how I can check the internal connection? I cannot locate where the video cables plug in at inside and have traced them to somewhere behind a wall in my bathroom where I cannot gain access without seemingly ripping out a wall. Any tips are appreciated!

The unit is only a year old but looks like I may need to replace the TV if all else fails.

Christina

Do yourself a favor and just replace it with a Samsung or similar

You could put a 4k TV in then it would be better than anything you have at home LOL (or, better yet, get that 4k TV for home and put what you had in the RV....hmm thinking now... LOL)

Darn it!..now I'm off to Best Buy.

Okay so another question ... will that mounting bracket that the Seiki is hooked to fit another TV or do I have to replace that too?

Thanks!

I was able to use same bracket with a little of modification the holes on the bracket needed to be drilled a little bigger and had to move the bracket up about 1" no big deal

If you buy the Samsung TVs you'll need to go to Home Depot and buy M4x12mm or 16mm bolts to mount the bracket. Samsung doesn't include the mounting hardware to the brackets

On my 2017 29.3 all the coax wires came up to the splitter behind the information station as you entered. I unscrewed that panel and moved the splitter to the inside of the cabinet, plus got a better splitter. Make sure all the connections are more than finger tight.

My outside tv did the same thing, however the next time I used it all was better. Not sure what caused the problem, maybe thing got alitte to moist.

My bedroom TV was not installed to the antenna at all. The big TV in the cab of my Class C is direct wired to the outlet which has a green button on it which is a signal booster. Make sure that things pressed if you are hardwired. If not get a $15 antenna from Dollar General called Free TV it's in the shape of a tea and it really did pull in a lot of channels. The blackout May be due to a video wire not being connected right. Are you using an HDMI plug? Good luck

Seiki tv ng

The first one of our 3 SEIKI Tv's to go was the outside one. Only used once, but it was probably the outside dampness, who knows.
The second one I just discovered that has a problem is the bedroom TV. It gets a picture, but the upper left side is all full of lines rendering the TV useless.
The one over the door is still working at the moment, so in two years, two out of three SEIKI TV's have gone bad.
The outside one I will not replace as it is not really used much, but the one in the bedroom I am replacing with a Sanyo that I had lying around.

The problem I have with the bedroom TV is the way Thor mounted the TV to the wall. They used a tapered fixed metal mount that I discovered only slides off the bracket in the direction of the window. This means that you have to remove the cornice in order to have the room for it to sled off the bracket.

When I replace the TV, I hope to rotate the bracket 180 degrees, so that it can slide in from the hall area towards the window. That way I never have to remove the cornice again. Just another stupid move by Thor.

You get what you pay for and I am sure Thor purchased the cheapest TV's they could

Which model Samsung did you replace the "Suckee" TV with?
(I'm thinking that I'll need a pair of 32's", and a 40"... )

Replacing Seiki TV

I'm convinced Thor went "low ball" when they purchased Seiki TVs. Our first "big" trip out in our '16 Windsport 31S verified that statement. At several campgrounds, with cable, we were unable to convert to the cable infeed. A call to Seiki verified that a QAM converter was required, which was obviously not installed, and Seiki no longer carries them, IF I wanted to purchase one for each of our TVs. I'd had done sooner, but we didn't use this summer due to health issues. I'm replacing both with LG TVs!!
