Awning Auto Retract add on

I found an Auto Retract for the OE Carefree of Colorado for about $90. Has anyone installed on of these themselves. Hints and advise on ease of installation appreciated.

I have the care free with auto retract. Check yours by extending the awning and push up on one end. Mine retracts when I push up simulating wind.

Yes sir! I just tried pushing up on it and In it went. Thank you. Now the $90 will go to the Safe T Steer fund..

I will have to check our Gemini to see if it works that way too, but we had auto retract on our former DP, but I never trusted it, so we never never left the motorhome with the awning out, and I was pretty quick to close it if it got even a little windy.

C of C Latitude has an auto retract that is movement sensitive. Two sharp wacks on the end or the roller with a broom handle will cause it to retract. This is unlike a Domentic which uses a wind velocity sensor (15 mph) to decide when to retract.
