roof ladder

I have a question on the attachment of the roof ladder on my 2016 Miramar. I have notice at the connections to the coach that the ladder ends are cut and appear to slide into some type of pre mounted hardware with a possible rod or probe that sticks out of this hardware. The way I see it, it appears that the ladder is permanently mounted to the roof, and all the way down the motorhome these attachments appear the way I am describing. Am I correct, or is there a problem here? We have owned other motorhomes and never have seen this. Please advise. Thank you

We just bought a 2016 Miramar. I will go down and check the ladder. I'll let you know what I find, and maybe a couple pics.

The ladder does appear to be "permanently" mounted. However, if it was put on, it can be taken off if needed. The weight seems to be carried by the top roof mounts: the side brackets act as stand-offs and don't carry any of the weight.

Mel556180, I think you are right, just looks a little un-sturdy to me. Good Luck with your new Miramar, we have been out a couple of times already and really enjoy it.
