Roof Marker Lights

Very minor issue here, but, being one of those that like to make things a bit better, I am asking the question. I noticed that a few of my roof marker lights have big water droplets inside the amber lenses. I had no problem taking off the one nearest the side, letting it dry out, reassembling and then sealing with silicone. Just would like to know if I would do damage to the front cap portion of the roof if I walk on it or would I be okay laying across it to fix those in the middle of the roof. They cannot be reached from the front of the windshield while on a ladder.

I've been up on the front cap of my 2015 Vegas. No deformation or bowing in.

I've also been up there a few times without any damage. It does get a bit slippery up there so be careful.

Anyone else have water in these clearance lights? Looks like Thor put some type of sealant around the gasket and the screw on the top but it didn't work.

Water in marker lights

I also have water droplets in my clearance marker lights.I plan on going up there and removing, drying and resealing them.Little things like that can turn into big moisture problems if not remedied quickly.I also found some small stress cracks in the gel coat on the front top corners of the fiberglass cap.I sprayed some clear flex seal on the edges.I also check all of my other lights and all of the edges where things join together, such as wheel well seams and use silicone sealer to try to avoid any water intrusion.I do think that as our Axis and Vegas.units get older you will begin to see a lot of discussion about leaks in these forums!Once that starts to happen things can fall apart and turn to junk very quickly!Be vigilant!

If you are going through the trouble of going up there and re-sealing them I'd suggest replacing the bulbs with LEDs. That way you shouldn't ever have to go back in them to replace the lights--the LEDs should last as long as the camper.

Pure believer in LEDs JamieGeek.... I found a site that sells five ready to go roof marker lights in LED made specifically for the econoline application. I may consider that.
