Window

Has anyone ever opened their emergency windows. I'm curious about our rear emergency bedroom window. Is it hinged at the top or will it fall out when I open it?

I believe it is hinged at the top. You can also open/close it at will--e.g. it isn't a one time only thing (where opening it means you have to replace the window).

It should be hinged at the top. Mine had a sticker attached to the windows (I have 2) that have operating instructions. The one that is in our bathroom is definitively hinged because we open it every trip for bathroom ventilation along with the vent fan. The bathroom window also has a screen with big red easy pull handle for removal.

I open mine all the time on my ACE 30.2 and I used to on my Dutchman fifthwheel. The fifthwheel was better. the handle was longer and would hold the window open further. On my ACE the one up front the handle acts as a latch and will hold it open a little ways and has a screen. The one in the bedroom probably isn't meant to be opened except for emergencies since there is no screen and its just a latch and doesn't have a handle to hold it open but I do it anyway.

Did not tell us what your rig is. Our KT Challenger rear window is designed to FALL OUT?OFF when opened far enoungh for exiting. I found out the hard way. You should open emergency exit windows from time to time to be sure the seal is not sticking. Just do not open them very far.

It should be fine to open for venting. I have a Challenger and I open mine all the time for venting. Hopefully it will never have to be used in an emergency.

I open mine when I want air flow. I cut a screen material and use velcro pieces to hold it in place when open
