"Rotating" dump elbow

I've had a 2015 Vegas now for a few months. Some minor issues, but a major problem while trying to dump the black and gray tanks. The rotating elbow where both tanks drain is VERY hard to turn. It takes two hands and trying to get it to turn through the small access door is really difficult. Does anyone else have this problem or is my plumbing misaligned? Is there a way to lubricate the elbow so it turns more easily?

The elbow on my Challenger was tight the first couple of times it was used. After a few times it began to loosen up and is now at the point that I consider normal.

In my Axis the elbow is also hard to rotate. I use another elbow connector to rotate it most of the way down then go up through the bottom to finish the rotation. It does seem easier to rotate the unit up by hand. I have not thought about to much because I don't want to develop a leak.

Mine doesn't move at all. I've tried several times and it doesn't want to rotate (tried to the point where I'm moving both tanks).

As it is its angled down slightly towards the hole so it already is in the position I'd want it to be in.

Mine is left down permanently. I just cap the outside entrance and leave it down. Mine was so hard to turn that I felt I would break it.

Mine is like Jamie's in a downward position and was like this when I got it. Just attached a clear 90 degree elbow on it whenever I dump the tanks. Works well and have never tried to rotate it.

Myrtle Beach is great BTW. Heading back to GA tomorrow. No problems with the Axis to mention thus far (knocking on wood). Haven't seen another Axis or Vegas while gone.

In my inexperienced RV mind, regularly turning the elbow will wear out the seal. That could be disastrous if one is dumping black water often.

Myrtle Beach was our first trip in our Axis last fall. We had the unit for less than a full day and took off. In retrospect, knowing what I know about new units from this list, that was not a good decision. But, it worked out very well.

Have some oysters for us.

Phil,

Sometimes Lady Luck is on our side.

Headed to Murrells Inlet shortly. Will suck down a dozen for you.

Thanks for all the input. Dealer just fixed the problem by loosening the black tank valve bolts (4) and applying lube. Works now.

My dump port is "stiff" to turn down into the hole below, but it does move.
JamieG, you might want to try what bthode's dealer did to his by loosening the bolts a little.

I have no need for it to move. It dumps just fine in the position it is already in.
