Routine Motor/Trans Service

I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Thor Chateau or Four Winds Super C, 35SF. Since these units have a Ford 550, do you all take them to a regular Ford service center or to an RV service center?

NOT an RV service center....commercial truck place, Ford dealer, or the oil change places around truck stops designed and trained to work on commercial chassis'. Have you been looking around? To my knowledge, the only new one available for sale is in Indiana. Ford is having a shortage of the F550 chassis for this coach. Thor says they can't get them until who knows when.

Thanks for your info. To your comment about the availability of new units, I have been in touch with a factory rep, trying to find either a Chateau or Four Winds 35SF. This is the latest from her:

"We are no longer building the Super C brands in the Chateau or Four Winds lines. We are building a new production building specifically for the Super C lines and it will be open in the fall. At that time we are going to be making some changes to those lines and will start building them in the new building in the fall.

I am not sure what the changes to the products will be yet. Thanks, Heather

I'll have to find a late model used or go to the Jayco Seneca.

There is one at a dealer in Indiana. I was also told by a TMC rep that the only changes being made was streamlining the front cab a little and dropping the Four Winds version of that product to only offer the Chateau. I guess us existing owners have a classic in the making. I hate that because the Super C filled such a gap. The floor plan is nearly identical to some of the A's, but you get the pro ride and power of the Ford diesel commercial chassis. Head to Zoomer's in Indiana...888.239.6254 and get the last of these.
