Question Running lights flashing

New 2015 Citation 24SR diesel motorhome on Mercedes chassis. Running lights come on when coach started but shortly after they start to flash intermittently. No pattern to the flashing, no clicking noise heard. RV dealer has been unable to fix it even after bringing in an electrician. They have been in contact with Thor and still no success. Any suggestions?

The front running lights are probably a Mercedes issue and it may need to go to a Mercedes service center for troubleshooting.

Actually the running lights (on front and back of coach top and bottom) weren't working at all originally and Mercedes were the ones that discovered it when unit was in for computer updates. They said it was a Thor issue. RV Dealership worked with Thor via email and phone and got them working. However, the licence plate light was broken and a part had to be ordered. Drove RV while waiting for part and running lights worked fine. Then part for licence plate light came in. After that was fixed the running lights (and licence plate light) started flashing.

Are you referring to the amber and red clearance and marker lights. When someone refers top running lights they are usually referring to Daytime Running Lights which are normally a chassis system on class B and C coaches.

They are referring to them as running lights but yes they would be the amber and red clearance marker lights. The headlights work fine.

Sounds like a intermittent short in the wiring. I would look where the wires are near where the "new" light was replaces to see if the wire(s) may be exposed and contacting the metal parts thereby shorting out the entire circuit.
Or at the power source there may be a loose wire or at the switch or circuit breaker/fuse panel
good luck

Thanks folks! Your suggestions make sense to me and I will pass them along. Will see if they have looked at these things already or not.

Finally Fixed!

After another 2 days in the shop at the dealership they finally fixed it! A relay was overloaded and kept tripping and resetting. Rewiring required. The frustrating part of it all is that it took so long to get Thor to finally pay attention and help solve the problem. After a lot of phonecalls and working our way up the chain of command we finally got someone to listen and help the dealership fix the problem with the help of wiring diagrams from Thor. Pretty sad it took so long for Thor to pay attention! All fixed now though and ready roll! Hopefully nothing else goes wrong!
