I admit, I am a bit paranoid about possible fires on board now. I made my first real check of the refrigerator on our 2016 Axis. Took off the outside inspection panel and did not find any big surprises. I did find the bottom partially covered with some type of very small tree buds and mini-pinecone looking buds with some in the burner area. A few minor cobwebs.

Took out the shop-vac and compressed air and got it all completely cleaned up. Just a piece of mind thing and a suggestion to all not to ignore this aspect of maintenance and inspection. Don't forget a look at the water heater as well.

I forgot to add, that I don't have any trees or foliage around my house that would have generated this into the refrigerator. I am investing in the screen pieces for the panel to help keep this from happening along with flying bugs.

From past experience with RV frigs in my fivers I know there are systems made for that area to extinguish fires automatically. I never really checked into it but knew some others with Montana fivers that had it done.
