Where is the Refrigerator Circuit Breaker? Challenger Residential Fridge

Hello All!

I am storing my RV for the winter and had a 50 amp plug installed so I could leave it plugged in. I want to turn off the refrigerator as there is no sense in leaving it running all winter, but I can't find a circuit breaker or main switch. Does anyone know where this mystery switch is located?

2016 Challenger 37TB with Whirlpool Residential

Thanks a ton all!

Bill

I'm just guessing, but would think it would be in the breaker panel, maybe it just isn't labeled.

If it's a whirlpool, why not just turn the switch to off??

This will most likely be the best reply I've ever gotten in my life! I'll let you know if I see it.

Thanks for taking the time,

Bill

I am not close to the coach right now but do have the electrical diagram on my iPad. According to the diagram my 37ND fridge is on the same circuit at the televisions which are tied to the inverter. According to my diagram that is breaker 5B and is labeled Television. I'll have to verify that when I get back home later this week.

Thanks Doug! I don't have that wiring diagram. When you reply if you could share a link to it I'd appreciate it.

There is no off switch. The temperature can be set to where it says off, but the lights remain on in the icemaker and inside.

You can request all kinds of diagrams from Thor directly using the forms on their support website. Click on the "Owners" link and then click on "Contact Customer Care" and request specific drawings or schematics. They will provide 12v and 110v electrical, plumbing and structural diagrams upon request. I received mine within a day of my request. Make sure you have the VIN of your unit so they can send your specific model info.

There has got to be a circuit breaker for where the refrigerator is plugged in. I assume that plug also is powered by the inverter. Is there a CB on the inverter distribution panel? Must the inverter be on when it is stored? Does the house batteries charge off a converter or the inverter? It just makes no sense to me that there would be a 110VAC plug (where the refrigerator is plugged in) with no circuit breaker protection.

Breakers should be at the foot of the bed on the outside. It's recessed so you can't see it very good. At least it is on our 2017 37yt. You can also turn off the cooling by holding the two buttons on the bottom right side of the panel on the front of the fridge. Hold for 3 seconds, it will say COOLING OFF.
