Does anyone know how thick the floor is?

I am supporting a new battery rack in one of our side storage compartments in our 2016 VEGAS from the floor. Does anyone know how thick the floor is on a VEGAS\AXIS? I am assuming 3/4" plywood, but would like to know for sure before I start drilling...

The left wall production drawing I have for my 2015 Vegas 24.1 shows the floor is 1/2 inch plywood on 2" x 1" hollow aluminum tubing as blw2 noted.

So, is the aluminum tubing spaced like studs in a house, or are they "solid" next to each other with no spacing?

They are not spaced evenly across the floor. They are kind of hodge podge depending on what's above and below them. Some run front to back some run across.

csseeker is right. I don't have a floor drawing showing the layout of the tubing, but it is laid out in a lattice fashion as seeker describes. Just not regular like house joists on a standard spacing between centers.

Contact Thor and ask them for a construction drawing for the floor of your specific VIN. That way you can see where there is bracing for where you want to put the battery.

Thanks, THOR sent (emailed) me the layout this morning...

From what I am seeing, the floor is actually 3/8" flooring, then open area (where the TUBES run) then a .1" covering. If anyone knows if this is right or wrong, please let me know... (Before I start making the floor look like swiss cheese)

well, I'd say it's a safe bet that it's not less than 11/32 in... and you have the safety margin of the 0.1 inch covering to keep it safe....
