Safety Checklist for Changing House Batteries

I have ordered new batteries to install (house batteries) in my ACE 2017 29.3. I have a pretty good idea on what I should do to ensure safely disconnecting and reinstalling the new one's but since it is an infrequent task, I would appreciate a sanity check on things you would ensure are done as you go through this process. Thanks

Make sure you only undo ONE post at a time. Run a zip tie through all of the cable ends and label where it came from i.e. back battery pos. or front battery etc.. Before disconnecting an other post make sure you did not forget a cable. Do same for all battery post. The reason I say this is upon my disconnecting the batteries, I failed to look for cables I missed. When I was all done low and behold there was a cable that I missed, it had fallen behind the back battery.

Safety goggles and gloves. Cover terminals that you aren't working on with thick tape so in case you a wrench slips, you won't short across posts.
Had a battery explode in my face as a kid when I was working on my brothers truck and diagnosing a misfire. Used insulated plug wire pullers and a rubber fender cover, but when a bad boot sparked through all of that to the fender next to the battery the spark ignited the gases and I was sprayed with battery acid. Fortunately the shock made my eyes close so the only casualties were my clothes and the battery.
That experience is always on my mind when working with lead acid batteries!

If you have solar, cover the panels or disconnect the panels from the charge controller.
