Alignment & Valve stems today

Zero for three! I called to confirm the shop could align a motorhome, they said, "yes". But, the coach is too wide for the lazer style alignment. He adjusted the toe out, no charge until I could find a shop to do the entire alignment. Strike one!
Same shop, suggested the solid valve extension with check ball, rather than the schrader style long valve. They didn't have any. Strike two! Also, didn't have any long valve stems to fit the smaller opening for the Ford E450 wheels! Strike three!
Off to the Ford dealer for an oil change...

well, I also got that problem about short valve stems with a hubcap that makes it very hard to add air. And if the wheel is like at the 10 / 2 position, it's impossible. Don't know why but it is. My solution was to get a big pair of pliers and bend the metal back on the hubcap hole until I could get an air chuck on it. Didn't change the look much and was very cheap.

The guys at the tire shop put a couple of these on at no charge. They said I can reach in with a long truck type tire inflator.

My dual rear tires can only be checked by taking off the hubcaps. Tried bending and all sorts of things even had my mechanic friend with his experience and expensive tools couldn’t do it without taking off the hub caps
Too scared to put value extensions on to ruin the tires if coming loose!

Naah they won't damage the tires: We had a valve extension let loose. Made a heck of a racket. Fortunately I was just doing a test drive and made it back to the storage lot with the RV going woop woop woop as the extension flopped around inside the wheel well. (It wasn't properly secured to the wheel/hub.) It didn't do anything to the tires other than let the air out of the inner.

I just got back from Les Schwab after the alignment. It took him longer to set up all the equipment than the adjustments. He did a minor toe adjustment, all the other settings were within specs. He told me the ins-n-outs of tire rotation for our rigs. Then, suggested rotation while we are on our trip to Cali/Arizona this winter.

Glad to hear that they did right by you!
Checking tire pressures: I also pulled the wheel covers off... It gave me a whole lot more fighting room!
